Becoming a Shift Manager Prospect is the initial step to influence and become part of the JOE & THE JUICE legacy. Your journey starts by mastering the responsibilities of the store hygiene and care, in order to prove yourself ready for the next step as Shift Manager Junior.

Shift Supervisor Pilot

Introduction

A Shift Supervisor at Joe & The Juice is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of their assigned shift. This includes:

  • Managing staff
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Maintaining operational efficiency

The Shift Supervisor acts as a leader and mentor to the team, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. They should be capable of running the store smoothly in the absence of the Store Manager, focusing on four key areas:

  • Engaged Employees
  • Clean Bar and Customer Area
  • Till Captain Performance
  • Satisfied Guests

You will achieve this by leading by example, being aware of the 4-walls, delegating tasks effectively, and utilising the store's whiteboard. As the manager for the day, it is crucial that you lead and guide your team by being vocal and diligent in your follow-up.

This training program will provide you with the tools and knowledge to understand the operational dynamics of the bar and help you manage your shift effectively. It includes: 

  • A cleaning day to familiarize you with our cleaning task standards
  • How to handle deliveries
  • Conduct inventory counts
  • Complete necessary reporting

Training Plan

Introduction

The Shift Manager is a crucial position when running a Joe & The Juice store and even more when operating with Team Position. The Shift Manager is able to run the store smoothly in the absence of the Bar Manager focusing on following 4 key areas:
  - Engaged Employees
  - Clean Bar & Customer Area
  - Person on Till
  - Satisfied Guests


Shift Manager Training sequence:

Week 1:

1. Onboarding and training in each of the store’s Team Position roles by the Bar Manager — 1 day per role
2. Validation in each of the positions by the Bar Manager — minimum 2 hours per role
3. Self-study — Joe History, Book of Brand Principles & Brand Behavior. Shift Manager will perform Teach the Teacher with the Bar Manager at the end of Week 1

Week 2:

The Bar Manager will plan the training of the Shift Manager and cover all module blocks.

The Outcome:
Once the training is done, the Shift Manager should be able to…
- Run the store smoothly in the absence of the Bar Manager focusing on the 4 key areas
- Follow “The 5 Steps of running a Manager Shift” when they are on a Manager Shift
- Perform Leadership Presence, Clear Communication, Task Delegation & Follow Up
- Follow the BTC Circle when running a Manager Shift

The Bar Manager will continuously follow up with the Shift Manager to further enhance their abilities to run a Manager Shift once the training is over.
