The Introduction
The purpose of a Shift Manager is to ensure Manager Presence in the store from Open —> Close. The Shift Manager is responsible for executing the plan set by the BM while on shift and always maintaining the following 3 key areas:
- Clean Bar & Customer Area
- Person on Till
- Satisfied Guests
Bar Manager Creates agenda for the day + Team Position Overview
In order for the Shift Manager to succeed their Manager Shift, the Bar Manager needs to complete the above two tasks
Role assignement
Assign all roles (Captains & Makers) according to the Bar Managers Team Position Overview
In-store feedback
Acknowledging: Deliver acknowledging feedback in-store to the team and share with BM in Manager Handover
Constructive: Deliver constructive feedback about the team to the Bar Manager to act on in Manager Handover
Perform “Manager shift handover” to BM
1. Role Assignment: Did you assign the roles according to the Team Position Overview? Role performance in line with Role Goals?
2. Status on DCWF: Has DCWF been followed during the shift - Morning / Mid-Day / Evening
—> Status on Trail Completion?
3. Breaks & Clock-in’s: Have Juicers been on breaks? Did people clock-in on time?
4. Team Performance: How was the Team Performance in the busy periods — Optimal Team Position?
The Outcome
Once the training is done, the Shift Manager should be able to carry out 4 daily key tasks:
- Assign all Team Positioning Roles
- Maintain and share daily status on DCWF
- Activate Breaks & Clock-in’s
- Uphold Team Performance through Activating-on-the-go & share feedback about Team Positioning plan for the day
