Work Environment

Back

A healthy work environment is the foundation of everything we do at JOE - from how we feel and perform to how we support one another every day. When working behind the counter, it is not only about keeping up the pace and serving our guests with a smile, but also about creating safe, comfortable, and sustainable ways of working.

By taking care of our workspace - how we move, lift, collaborate, and keep things clean and organized - we help ensure a working environment that is safe, pleasant, and efficient for everyone. A well-maintained store allows us to focus on what truly matters: our people, our guests, and the experience we create together.

In our stores, you will find different equipment and tools designed to support your safety and well-being, as well as that of your fellow Juicers and our guests. It is important that these tools are used correctly and consistently as part of our daily routines.

Safety equipment available in store includes:
  • Rubber Gloves – To be used when refilling spray bottles with chemicals and when doing dishes.
  • Safety Goggles – To be used when refilling spray bottles with chemicals.
  • Hearing Protection – To be used when operating the compressor to clean filters.
  • Face Mask – To be used when operating the compressor to clean filters.
  • Box Cutter – To be used when opening delivery boxes.
  • First Aid Kit – Contains plasters, eyewash, bandages, wound wash, and burn gel.

Taking responsibility for your own safety — and for those around you — is an essential part of being a Juicer. When we look after our working environment, we look after each other.

Systematic Work Environment Management (SAM) is a structured and ongoing part of how we take care of our people at JOE. We work systematically with the work environment through continuous safety inspections (skyddsronder), risk assessments, and actions to address identified risks. This ensures that potential hazards are identified, evaluated, and managed in a timely and responsible manner.

By actively following up on these measures, we can reduce or eliminate risks before accidents occur or work-related ill health arises. A well-functioning SAM not only supports a safe and healthy workplace, but also contributes to increased well-being, creativity, and productivity across our teams.

If you have any questions, concerns, or observations regarding your work environment, you are always encouraged to speak up. Your District Manager and the People Team are here to support you and can be contacted at peoplese@joejuice.com.

Your safety and well-being are always our highest priority. By staying prepared and knowing how to act, we help create a secure environment for ourselves, our colleagues, and our guests.

Prevention & Awareness

Being prepared is a key part of staying safe at work.

  • Make sure you know if and where the personal alarm is available in your store and how it is used.
  • Always have the phone numbers of your District Manager and Operational Manager saved in your phone.

During Threatening or Unsafe Situations

If you find yourself in a threatening situation, your personal safety comes first.

  • Stay calm and assess the situation as best as you can.
  • Cooperate with the person involved - do not resist in the event of a robbery.
  • If possible and safe to do so, seek support from your surroundings, such as a colleague, guest, or passer-by, provided it does not escalate the situation.
  • Move to a safe location if this can be done without putting yourself at greater risk.
  • Observe and remember details about the person’s appearance and behavior for later reporting, without putting yourself in danger

Use of Personal Alarm

The personal alarm is a support tool in situations of immediate danger.

  • In the event of an immediate threat or serious danger, discreetly press and hold the alarm button for 3 seconds, until the alarm vibrates.
  • Once activated, the alarm notifies Securitas security guards. While the alarm is active, they are able to hear what is happening on-site and will respond by going to the store as quickly as possible.

After the Incident

After any incident, support and follow-up are essential.

  • Make sure the situation is safe before taking further action.
  • Contact and inform your District Manager as soon as possible.
  • Document the incident and participate in follow-up and review to help prevent similar situations in the future.

Remember, you are never alone. Support is always available, and speaking up helps us continuously improve safety for everyone at JOE.
