Dress Code/Grooming

We encourage you to express yourself through your personal style while upholding high standards for food safety in the workplace. Excellence in hygiene is an essential part of delivering a great guest experience and representing our brand to the public, why maintaining a high level of personal hygiene and grooming is essential. This includes always wearing clean clothes, avoiding long and dirty nails, nail polish, and jewelry on hands and fingers. Additionally, hair must be tied up in a bun or ponytail if it reaches or falls below your shoulders, to ensure food safety. Furthermore, all clothes used for work must adhere to the dress code policy, which can be found here.

Tattoos/Piercings

Tattoos have always been a big part of the JOE culture and how employees are able to express their personal style. However, if a tattoo is deemed inappropriate by your manager, you may be required to cover it up .Employees must not perform any employment duties with unhealed piercings or tattoos, unless the piercing or tattoo is fully covered. Furthermore, any discriminatory and/or offensive tattoos must also be fully covered.

Nicotine

At JOE we promote a healthy lifestyle among our employees and guest, and are therefore maintaining a smoke-free environment. Smoking, as well as the use of electronic cigarettes and other nicotine-containing products, is prohibited in the bar premises and surrounding grounds. If you choose to smoke during your break, please ensure that your hands, breath, and clothes are free from smoke odor before re-entering the bar. If you are unsure where smoking is allowed, please ask your manager.

Alcohol/Drugs

To maintain a safe and healthy work environment, we maintain a workplace free of drugs and alcohol. Therefore, you are prohibited from being under the influence of such during working hours. Consuming alcohol and drugs in-store or on premises during or after working hours is prohibited

Social gatherings, parties, and celebrations are part of our culture, and we acknowledge that alcoholic beverages may be served in connection with such gatherings arranged by the company. However, the focus at these events is on building social ties, and you are free to make your own choice regarding alcohol consumption. Non-alcoholic alternatives will be available at all social events.

We strive to deliver great guest experiences, which entails being focused on our guests and surroundings while at work. Therefore, the use of phones and other electronic devices during working hours is not allowed, except for work-related or emergency purposes. Additionally, phones should never be used in front of guests and only outside the bar area. This also extends to the use of social media during working hours, which is not allowed.

Personal belongings brought to work are the responsibility of the employee and should, where applicable, be placed in designated lockers. Despite our continuous efforts to maintain a safe environment, JOE cannot be held accountable for personal belongings being lost or damaged on the premises.

We encourage everyone to take care of their own and colleagues' belongings and only bring necessary items relevant to perform your work tasks
