FETCO's CBS 1221 - Programming

Full Hot Batch

How to program the FETCO's for a Full Hot Batch:

  • Turn off brewer at rear wait 10 seconds and turn back on
  • STOP button will be red- Press quickly to enter program mode
  • Batch program A will appear on screen
  • Press BUTTON 1 - BREW VOLUME  A1 will appear on screen
  • Press BUTTON 1 to scroll through menu and set as list below
1. Brew Volume - 2.750 lts
2. Brew Time - 3:30
3. Pulses – 12
4. Prewet percent – 12%
5. Prewet delay – 1:00
6. Bypass % - 0
7. Drip delay – 1:30
  1. Then press STOP and next program A2 will appear on display
  2. Move to next procedures for Half Hot Batch recipe - A2

Half Hot Batch

How to program the FETCO's for a Half Hot Batch:

  • Press BUTTON 1 - Brew Volume will show on display
  • Press BUTTON 1 to scroll through menu and set as list below
1. Brew Volume - 1.550lt
2. Brew Time - 3:00
3. Pulses – 8
4. Prewet percent – 12%
5. Prewet delay – 0.30
6. Bypass% - 0
7. Drip delay – 1:00
  1. Then press STOP and next program A3 will appear on display
  2. Move to next procedures for FULL ICED BATCH recipe -A3

Iced Full Batch

How to program the FETCO's for a Iced Full Batch:

  • Batch enabled A3 will display on screen
  • Press BUTTON 1  and batch program A3 will appear on screen
  1. Press BUTTON 1- BREW VOLUME A3 will appear on screen
  2. Press BUTTON 1 to scroll through menu and set as list below
1. Brew Volume - 1.650 lts
2. Brew Time - 3:30
3. Pulses – 12
4. Prewet percent – 12%
5. Prewet delay – 1:00
6. Bypass % - 0
7. Drip delay – 1:30
  1. Then press STOP- copy batch will appear- Press STOP- Keep pressing STOP until EXIT appears ​
  2. Press BUTTON 2 so display says EXIT- YES
  3. Press BUTTON 1 - SAVE will appear on screen​
  4. Press BUTTON 2 so YES appears on screen​
  5. Press BUTTON 1 and this will save settings and return to operation mode

*Now brewer should be back to operation mode*

MAHLKONIG EK 43 Grinder - Settings

Coarse Adjustment

By moving the dial towards bigger numbers (coarser) this will allow water to pass through the ground coffee at a faster rate which will result in a weaker watery flavour

*No.7 should be a starting point for a grind setting

Fine Adjustment

By moving the dial towards smaller numbers (finer) this will allow water to pass through the ground coffee at a slower rate which will result in a stronger flavour with more body present

*No.7 should be a starting point for a grind setting

  • A balanced flavour will determine the correct grind setting
  • Standard dose for full 1 gallon batch - 180g ground coffee
